Obama's Fancy State Dinner and Step Stools

Rick Bayless, owner of Chicago eateries Frontera Grill and Topolobampo:

"I'm going to be making a mole and I think it's got 27, 28 ingredients in it." (For those unfamiliar, mole is a type of sauce, not a rodent.)

Well which is it? 27 or 28? And hey, that's a lot of ingredients. I mean humans can only recognize what, five basic flavors? Well, six for people like me, who have developed a keen ability to detect the bitter taste of defeat. (due to constant, it seems, exposure)

Speaking of which defeat, and food: I'll be going to work with a limp today and I blame Sam's Club. Why? Well, who else sells a box of Cheez-Its so big that it can break a toe by falling from the top shelf of the pantry? I know, I know, what were you thinking? You never put Sam's-sized products on the top shelf. Yeah well after many years of marriage to the woods princess, I've been forced to embrace the "there's a flat spot, it'll fit there" school of Feng Shui. So oftentimes the top shelf is only place possible to put stuff.

There was once a time when the top shelf of the pantry was always clear and neat. I used it to store those spices that, you don't know where they came from, and you know you'll never use. (what I call the "gee, I wonder what that tastes like" spices) You used to be able to put entire dioramas on the top shelf of my pantry. Then some evil genius introduced the kitchen step stool and now you're liable to find anything up there -- Barbie's heads, yarn, burned out light bulbs... I was foolish to think I could balance a cubic yard of Cheez-Its on top of a rack of deer antlers.

So anyway, before step stools, my height granted me exclusive access to the top shelf. The shorter members of the household could only dream about what might be up there. I'll think of those as the good old days.

Even though I know, in Obama's America, it's wrong to have an advantage over anyone else. (and there's probably a team of googlers in the basement of the white house looking for "exclusive access", for the purpose of stamping it out) I suppose I should rejoice over step stools because Obama's solution wouldn't focus so much on raising the short people as on chopping 12 inches or so off of those of us blessed with height.

So I guess I'm happy with what I got: a limp, sure, but I also own so many Cheez-Its that their mass affects tidal activity in the Northeast. And fancy pants Obama is stuck with a mole made from ingredients of indeterminate number.

International Conference on Climate Change Totally Ignored By Media

By Noel Sheppard:

Four days after Senate Democrats introduced a new bill to limit carbon emissions, an international conference discussing the scientific holes in the theory of man-made global warming began in Chicago.

Despite the attendance of hundreds of scientists from across the globe, as well as polls finding Americans becoming less and less convinced that man has anything to do with the warming trend the planet has experienced since 1850, our nation's media couldn't care less.

Call it the March for Life syndrome. No matter how many kids gather in DC each year, the media always find a story on zoning disputes, or a restaurant opening, to push it off the front page.

What Would Obama Do?

See the sidebar for a chance to get one of these fine toys for a pittance. That's right, they've been discounted because of the widespread belief that they're defective. Amazon got many of these units returned because they always come up "SPEND MORE". But the manufacturer claims "that's not a bug; that's a feature."

So whether you play the stock market, or if you're just one of those people who buy groceries, you can now navigate the "land of audacity" with confidence using the WWOD compass.

No need to thank me. We're all in this together.

Obamacare Class Action Lawsuit

Guest post by RB

Less than a week after the regime rammed ObamaCare down our throats, Tennessee's number one RINO in the senate, Bob Corker, said that any attempt to try to repeal the health care bill was "futile".
Senator Corker went on to say, "The fact is that's not going to happen, OK?" Well Bob, no it's not "OK" and I told him so in this letter that I sent to him:

Senator Corker,

I read with interest your comments in the Nashville Business Journal. Of course we are not going to repeal this abomination of a health care bill at this time. But to characterize such an attempt as "futile" is a poor attitude indeed.

The people are sick and tired of having the way we live our lifes dictated to us by a Marxist regime in Washington DC. This includes Republican Marxists who carry the water for the democrats by insisting on compromise.

American citizens who believe in our Constitution and Founding Principles, particularly capitalism and fiscal responsibility, are going to send you as many reinforcements as we can come this November. In the meantime you must slow this train wreck down with any means at your disposal and hold on, hold up, and wait for the cavalry to arrive.

I don't think you understand the depth of anger and disgust that is simmering beneath the surface of the American people, everywhere, from coast to coast. Stand for us and we will stand with you. Compromise with the Marxist agenda and we will surely find a candidate to replace you when comes time for your reelection.

You have no idea how many people are campaigning for solid conservative candidates to represent us even now as you read this. You have no idea because we do not need to go through the Republican Party to work, donate and campaign for candidates. We are doing everything humanly possible to send you the majorities you need to actually be able to stop their agenda. With a majority in one if not both houses next year you can stop this health care bill by not funding it. Then in 2012 we intend to send you a strong Conservative president so you can indeed repeal this bill without needing a two-thirds majority to override a veto, at which point you can start over and get it right.

Please Senator Corker, I beg of you with all due respect and sincerity, stand with the American people against the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda which is the Marxist agenda. We have had our fill of compromise with these people. It is time for the debate, not on issues; the debate on ideology and the kind of nation this country is to be in the future. Every issue debated, every position taken by Republicans should now be framed in that context of ideology; the Constitution versus the Communist Manifesto. Please, hear the voices of our Founders who speak to us still through the ages in their writings. Please, hear our voices now - NO COMPROMISE.

In Liberty,

Richard K. Burroughs

My fellow Lumberjacks and Lumberjackettes, they are pushing us so hard and so fast it's hard to keep up. But when something like this health care is thrust upon us unconstitutionally and against our will, to have our representatives immediately raise the white flag and surrender is nuts. The Constitution is not only the guiding law for how our government is to conduct itself, it is a contract; a contract between "WE the People" who are the sovereign of this nation and the people we elect into government to represent and conduct our affairs in government. I voted for Bob Corker to represent my affairs, not to raise the white flag of surrender to the Obama regime. The wisdom of our Founders is also found in the Constitution when they gave the sovereign the ability to remove a knucklehead like Corker from office; and that will happen in 2012.

In the meantime, there are other ways to fight ObamaCare. One way is to join the class action lawsuit against Obama, Pelosi and Reid and this health care bill. I urge you to visit this website:

Thanks, RB
