The two leaders went right up to the counter where the meat was being grilled and ordered.

Each fetched cash from his pocket and paid, and then the pair stood like the rest and waited for their number to be called before going to a table.

No, it's not odd that going out for a burger is news. He knew the AP would be all over an important story like this. What is odd is that he is still pulling campaign stunts like this. He won. He's president. He doesn't have to do that stuff anymore.

Panic on Hold

The news starts to shift:

WASHINGTON, May 4 (Reuters) - With Mexico saying the worst may be over and the new H1N1 virus starting to look more like a seasonal flu strain in the United States and elsewhere, critics are going to start asking if public health officials overreacted to the outbreak.

Actually, I wouldn't accuse health officials of anything; they were doing their jobs. I'd accuse the media of overhype though. If there was any sort of panic, you can lay it at the MSM's doorstep. The story from the beginning should have been: be prudent, and we'll see what happens.

It's kind of funny though. In Md. they've closed some schools, "but the students that were scheduled for AP exams will take them at [some other local school]." Um, hello? You were closing the schools because some of the students might be infected.... are they any less infected if you send them to a different building?

It's going to be ok though. If bad things are coming, you'll know when they get here. I say wash your hands, don't kiss strangers, and call me in the morning.
