The First Nutritionist

I don't know how much comment is needed; after all a picture is worth a thousand calories:

Speaking to the National Restaurant Association on Monday, Mrs. Obama pleaded with restaurants small and large to take a little butter or cream out of their dishes, use low fat milk and provide apple slices or carrots as a default side dish on the kids' menu.

Mrs. Obama said that Americans are spending half their food dollars outside the home and eating a third of meals in restaurants. She asked the restaurants to rethink the food they offer and reformulate their menus to help combat childhood obesity.

Really? I don't care how much the wheatgrass enema brigade wail and gnash teeth: it's a free country and they can say whatever they like so long as they don't yell "trans-isomer fatty acid!" in a crowded theater. I mean the pictures tell the truth. Fat tastes good. Salt tastes good. Pork tastes good.

And like the global warming pimps who travel in private jets, many of the nutrition Nazis fail to practice what they preach. But by all means, keep preaching. Just don't try to restrict what I can and cannot eat.
