Houston, we have a problem.
While the spam is gone (never appeared?) here, getting comments sent to my email may be a suboptimal use of my resources here.

What was happening? You were getting e-mail notifications of spam replies?
I think you have to edit your original comment and un-check the Email follow-ups box.
For some reason this post got a boat load of spam comments. They were all filtered out but I guess the email feature was triggered first.
