I may only beat Rachel Maddow and Nancy Pelosi by minutes but I want to be the first to declare that the Olympic Rio Vote was Racist, Raaaacistt! Raaaacistt!!!!! The world just can't stand a person of color being in the White House. It's the only possible explanation.

George Sorta Nails It
George Will, that is. He's right to notice that vanity seems to be the underlying theme of this presidency. But more important is the question of whether Barrack Obama will finally concede that his charm doesn't work when applied to international relations. He needs to learn that lesson if he is to protect American interests for the next three years.
A pretty smile and deep laugh are great for convincing a 20-something voter that you can charm our enemies into becoming friends, but charm is destined to fail when applied to a problem such as a resurgent Russia reasserting its power over FSU countries. Charm hasn't swayed the Olympic committee, North Korea, Iran, the Taliban, or even NATO for crying out loud. It doesn't work. And though I'll be happy to ridicule the failure of Obama's Shinning Face Policy; I'd much rather he grew up and began working with the traditional tools of foreign relations. This stuff is too important.

***Har Update -- Mister Grumpy sends along evidence that the picture is real:
Drudge Awash in Red

I got to tell you, I thought the fix was in on the 2016 Olympics. I read yesterday, I forget where, that the Chicago way was to pick a winner - then hold an election. But Chicago politics aside, I thought that the Glowing One must have had some advance info that gave him the courage to risk the current *ss-hangoutery of defeat.
Wow, I can't wait to see if there are pictures of the Two O's and an M at the moment it dawned on them that the world doesn't spin around their center. Their tears must be glorious. I must taste their tears.
(oh, and Drudge's headline is awesome: The Ego Has Landed)
CNN's reaction is great too:
Creative Parking

So lumberwife is stopped at a Dash-In, getting a piece of pizza when WHAM, this lady drives up over the curb, through the plate glass, through every candy bar, snack cake, and potato chip, finally coming to rest halfway into the soda cooler. The combined smell of chocolate, sugar, chips, and gasoline must have been glorious.
Good news: nobody happened to be in the path of the rogue machine.

Garrison Keillor
I just saw this picture on a post about crabby old Garrison Keillor over at Newsbusters, and it got me wondering : Anyone know if Janet Reno has an older brother? Or sister?
