Danny Glover shows what Pat Robertson did wrong:
“When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?”
I don't have a problem with Danny Glover thinking we've angered Gaia. I think the whole Gaia thing is a little silly, but hey, it's not my place to tell Danny what to believe.
Likewise, I think Pat Robertson is off base claiming that an entire country made a pact with Satan. But he, too, is free to believe whatever he likes.
The mistake they both make is in expressing their opinions at this particular moment, when people are still dying. To their credit, they both urge everyone to help those who are suffering. But laying blame at this time is like the ambulance attendants at the scene of an accident commenting on who they thought was at fault. It's not the time.
It is time to help if your situation allows it. Catholic Relief Services is already in the country and is very efficient at putting contributions to work.
