My Argument Begins..... Now

One thing this election has done, it's given me an exemption from political arguments. I have one argument, and it will unfold over the next four years. My standard political rejoinder from here on out will be: "Watch." Watch what the next four years do to America and the American economy.

And I'm confident in my argument. We needed Executive and Legislative control to end Obamacare and we didn't get either. And companies that had held out hope of its repeal have now started to announce lay-offs and cut-backs. New companies will be looking to maximize the use of part time workers in order to minimize their exposure to health care mandates.

And unemployment will get worse. The economy will slow. On the bright side, food stamps will boom. Somebody find me the ticker symbol for food stamps.

Obama has the means to make my "watch" argument null and void of course. He could take his boot off the neck of capitalism and let a recovery happen. It would happen on its own, given a chance. And Obama would get credit for it. But he's already signaled that that won't happen.

Two days after the results were in, he shut down drilling on federal lands out west:

The Interior Department on Friday issued a final plan to close 1.6 million acres of federal land in the West originally slated for oil shale development.

The proposed plan would fence off a majority of the initial blueprint laid out in the final days of the George W. Bush administration....

The EPA is getting ready to unleash PM2.5, their particulate matter regulations that should be good for 800,000 pink slips, give or take.

And now there's talk of a carbon tax. Floated by the WaPo and other administration outlets, Obama says he won't propose a carbon tax. Well no, he won't, but he'll let Harry Reid push it as an alternative to the fiscal cliff. Yes, taxes are supposed to originate in the House, but I imagine they'll call it a "user fee" or "fine" or "government enhancement mechanism." And when it hits his desk, he'll sign it.

Look for MSNBC, the NYT and WaPo to ramp up attacks on House members who oppose their new sources of revenue.

So yeah, I don't have a crystal ball, but I can see Obama has decided on more of the same. And you can expect the results to be pretty much what we've seen already.

Just watch.

y response is a bit more verbose:

"I am appalled that the President of the United States watched on CCTV as 4 Americans were slaughtered and did nothing.
Nothing!"
"And you chose to re-elect him. Their blood is on your hands."

Then, suppressing the urge to throttle, I walk away.
