How Proud the President Must Be

Ha, the Smoking Gun has some FBI documents regarding the anthrax mailer. Best bit: he was an Obama man. Only bad bit: he didn't live to see Obama's recent renewal of the Patriot Act for another year.

Not that I'm complaining, the Patriot Act is important. But when Bush signed it he was a civil liberties robbing monster -- when Obama signs it he's just keeping us safe. Same with US forces in Iraq -- weren't pulled right out of there, were they? Of course not, they're drawing down on a schedule that was agreed to before Obama came into office.

It was all just politics. And it worked; it got the anthrax mailer's vote anyway.
