Nazanin Fatehi

Some good news. The death sentence for Nazanin Fatehi has been vacated. Does this mean Islam is becoming civilized? Look at what the case says about Muslim men:

Fatehi and her niece were in a park outside Tehran with their boyfriends in February 2005 when three men approached them. The boys fled after the men pushed the girls to the ground. Fatehi drew a knife and stabbed one man in the arm and another in the chest, killing him, according to the court documents.

In June, an appeals court stayed Fatehi's death sentence and ordered a new trial. A retrials court decided last week that the killing was not premeditated and did not warrant the death penalty.
The boyfriends did what when the girls were pushed to the ground? Ran away? I wonder if they put up any kind of fight at all. Regardless, you can't blame Nazanin for carrying a knife and being ready to defend herself. She no doubt knew that she and her niece were considered only "uncovered meat" by all five of the distinguished Muslim men in the park that day. The girls were a prize the three rapists came across, objects to be exploited. And what were they to their boyfriends? A prize lost? Just meat to be given up to the bigger dogs?

Now Nazanin Fatehi needs to pay the dead rapist's family what his life was worth: nothing.
