I'm sure they're unaware of the error, but This Isn't Happiness got their caption exactly wrong. This picture from Birmingham Alabama is labeled "Red State". Now with the sure and certain knowledge that they're choosing to be ignorant, I'll offer this futile correction: both Bull Conner and George Wallace were democrats. In fact the Civil Rights Act's greatest opponents were Southern Democrats.
