Boxing Day

Most Americans have only a vague idea of what Boxing Day is. Yes, it started out as the day we trash the boxes the Christmas presents came in, or possibly, something entirely different; I'm not sure.

Sure, I could have read the whole wikipedia article and parroted it back to you. But I don't look at a thing and wonder what it is; I look at a thing and wonder what it should be. And shouldn't Boxing Day be a day for everyone to take a swing at Sean Penn?  I mean, in an ideal world, wouldn't that be best?

Likes like everyone has already been beating him in the face with ugly sticks. I for one would not want to get close enough to him to execute a perfect right cross. Like the idea but could not stand the proximity. Would be like kicking a fresh cow pie.

Boxing day is the day when the leases on rented property all expire and tenants need to all move to their new leases. Thus "boxing" up their possessions.

That Sean Penn pic is from Gangster Squad, which I watched just last night. So gritty. So amazingly gritty. Violent and bloody. Like a Phillip Marlowe movie, but with an R rating.

Two broken thumbs up on that movie.
